Don't let the picture of the winged rat fool you...
Alaskan Winter Ale is a seasonal beer made by Alaskan Brewing Company and it is a shame that the season doesn't last longer. Most of Alaskan Brewing Co.'s beers are over-hyped, much like the Quitter Queen (AKA Sarah Palin), but not this beer. The English-style ale is made with spruce tips and noble hops. it has a sweet start, smooth body and crisp finish.

However, we suggest that some good socks and a bag of Cheetos wouldn't hurt either. Alaska Winter Ale pairs well with a herb roasted game hen (along with an apple chutney) or a Hungry Man Turkey Dinner.
